This is because Ashlee thinks he is a Dark One, which means that he is a vampire that sucks human blood. The next part that is my favorite is when I thought it was an awesome book. The next part that is my favorite is when Ashlee goes to the Hirsh house and goes into Sasha's room to discuss who is the Dark One in school.

They thought over the facts and came to the conclusion that it was Mr. Harker, the director of the play they were having.

The last part of the story that was my favorite was when Ashlee actually witnessed Mr. Harker turn into a bat to suck Sasha's blood. I think that part was cool and scary at the same time. So that is what I think. Feb 06, Lizette A. First of all, I think that this was a very good book about a 12 year old girl, Ashlee, turning into a vampire. The writing was very easy to understand. The weaknesses were when Ashlee received a letter when she was 12 that said that she was a vampire and to not tell anyone. Without doubt, my critique was mostly positive. Continuing to co-read Poison Apple and Goosebumps books with my 7 year old since these seem to keep her interest best. I was vary wary of these books and really didn't like the first couple that we read, but the last few have been pretty good. Interesting, but relatable story-telling for her. Good introductions to popular themes and story structure.

Some of the character development is obviously a bit angsty, but they're not as shallow as they first come off and I think they're really helping her expand her sense of story and overall creativity.

While not necessarily my cup of tea, it DOES continue to keep me happy that she's interested generally in reading books that generally lean in a horrorish direction. Here's what I think of this book. In my opinion I liked the idea that the vampire race came up with blood substitutes to compensate for animal blood. But what I didn't like was that the story followed stereotypical vampire "powers.

Vampires are actually a species, not humans with "superhuman powers" like shapeshifting into bats and hissing, Here's what I think of this book. Vampires are actually a species, not humans with "superhuman powers" like shapeshifting into bats and hissing, and biting necks. I didn't like the part either when they treated a human as "bait" to lure out the antagonist either, it feels that people are saying that vampires are "superior" to humans and animals just because they are "superhuman. Jul 13, Nefera rated it it was amazing. I, personally loved this book it was about a twelve-year-old girl named Ashlee Lambert.

Ashlee wasn't a normal girl, she was a full vampire.

I'm sorry for a negative review but I have read every Poison Apple book up to this one and I personally think this was the worst one. It had such a boring story line and it didn't lure me in like the rest of the Poison Apple books. There wasn't nothing too scary about it or something that made you want to turn the page to find out what's next. I gave a 2 because I was able to finish reading it without giving up on it.

Sep 27, Lynn rated it really liked it. I read this to see if it was appropriate for my daughter and for what it was, it wasn't bad. I'm even mildly curious about the other books in the series, although I doubt I'll read them unless my daughter asks to read them too.

Shelves: fantasy , read-in , vampires , mystery , childrens. At the start I thought this book was pretty boring, but as it progresssed, it got better. In some parts of this book I had to remind myself that Ashlee was a twelve-year-old and not older because the way she sounded and acted made me think she was older. Pretty good book.
